Red Sea coral reef

Building Intelligent Systems
for Coral Reef Recovery

REEFA is developing a DeepTech platform that combines advanced sustainable materials with artificial intelligence to make coral reef restoration more precise, scalable, and sustainable.

Did You Know

Coral reefs cover less than 1% of the ocean floor but support roughly 25% of all marine species.

The Problem

Reefs are vanishing — and current restoration can't keep up.

Climate change, ocean warming, acidification and pollution are driving rapid global coral decline. Conventional restoration is expensive, slow, rarely site-specific, and often relies on non-eco-friendly materials. The world needs scalable, data-driven, sustainable solutions to protect marine biodiversity and coastal economies.

About REEFA — Our Story

From a December 2024 idea to an AI-powered climate-tech platform.

REEFA began in December 2024 as an idea to develop sustainable biomaterials for coral restoration. We collaborated with leading marine researchers and PhD experts to advance the concept. Following rigorous lab testing in 2025, we observed promising coral-growth results that shaped our commitment. Since 2026, we have been integrating AI and deep technology into a comprehensive climate-tech platform that transforms reef restoration into a precise, scalable, and environmentally responsible process.

Our Solution

Eco-friendly biomaterials + REEFA AI, working as one platform.

REEFA combines sustainable reef structures with an AI stack for site-specific design, simulation, optimization and intelligent monitoring — powered by advanced machine learning and environmental modeling. The result: higher survival rates, lower cost, real scalability, and long-term sustainability.

Site-Specific Design

Custom reef geometry tailored to each location's species, currents and substrate.

Predictive Simulation

Virtual testing against temperature, salinity and flow before anything enters the sea.

Intelligent Monitoring

Computer vision tracks coral health and flags stress early, season after season.

Sustainable by Design

Biodegradable, marine-safe materials — engineered for reefs, not against them.

The Science

Validated in the lab. Ready for the Red Sea.

Our work is grounded in real research. We ran 90-day coral growth experiments in controlled aquaria simulating Red Sea conditions — confirming that natural, biodegradable substrates can support healthy coral attachment and growth.

Market Potential

A growing global market — and a strategic Saudi opportunity.

Coral restoration sits at the intersection of climate tech, the Blue Economy, and biodiversity finance — a fast-expanding market with strong Saudi alignment.

01

Market Size

Global reefs deliver an estimated $2.7T/year in ecosystem services, and global ocean restoration investment is projected to scale into the tens of billions by 2030.

02

Problem–Solution Fit

~50% of coral has been lost since the 1950s and conventional restoration is slow, costly, and not site-specific. REEFA replaces it with AI-designed, biodegradable, scalable systems.

03

Growth Projections

Up to 90% of remaining reefs are at risk by 2050 without intervention — driving rising public, NGO, and corporate demand for verifiable marine restoration.

04

Saudi Market Relevance

Saudi Arabia's 2,640+ km Red Sea coastline, NEOM, Red Sea Global, and Vision 2030's tourism, environment, and innovation pillars make the Kingdom a primary launch market for REEFA.

Blue Economy & Vision 2030

Powering Saudi Arabia's Blue Economy.

Healthy reefs underpin biodiversity, coastal protection, fisheries and eco-tourism — core pillars of the Blue Economy along Saudi Arabia's 2,640+ km Red Sea coastline. REEFA accelerates reef recovery sustainably and supports Vision 2030's pillars of economic diversification, environmental sustainability and innovation.
